For help relating to your emotional wellbeing

  • If you or someone else are experiencing suicidal thoughts or are unable to keep safe call 999.
  • To talk about anything that is upsetting you, you can contact Samaritans 24 hours a day, 365 days a year completely free from any phone by calling 116 123, You can also email jo@samaritans.org or visit some of their branches in person.
  • If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or supporting someone who is, you can call SANEline on 0300 304 7000 (4.30pm–10pm every day).
  • National Suicide Prevention Helpline UK offers a supportive listening service to anyone experiencing thoughts of suicide. You can call the National Suicide Prevention Helpline UK on 0800 689 5652 between 6pm to midnight every day.
  • Shout offers a confidential 24/7 text service providing support if you are in crisis, want some mental health support and need immediate help but would prefer not to talk. Text SHOUT to 85258.
  • If you would like to see additional services for people experiencing mental health crisis including services specific to younger age groups and people who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender, you can find out more about such services at Mind.   • You can call the Macmillan Support line on 0808 808 00 00, 8am - 8pm, to discuss anything relation to your cancer.
  • You can use the online Macmillan Chat Service via Chat online | Macmillan Cancer Support to talk about what ever matters to you or to find the right information and support in your local area.
  • If you are under the care of a hospital team, you can contact your Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist.
  • If you have access to an acute oncology service, you may be able to contact the team.
